Photojournalism

What is Photojournalism?

It is a form of reporting that heavily relies on a photograph to tell a story on what is happening.

Is it reliable?

Just like other forms of reporting, photojournalism can be very opinion based. Due to how you can only see some of what's going on in a photo, it can be easy to make things seems worse off or better by only shows a small part of it.

This photo focuses on a young child to use the emotions of the viewers so they think about how bad the place must be.


Henri Cartier-Bresson
Henri was referred to as "the godfather of photojournalism". Despite the title, he hated photography and he has said "photography has never been more than a way into painting, a sort of instant drawing.".
